Between Two worlds

Featuring John Patitucci on electric and upright bass

Between Two Worlds is part of a larger initiative that aims to confront the ongoing stereotyping against immigrants based on their origins, religions and skin color

"This experiment in Eastern modes-meet-and-embrace-Western jazz traditions is, in a word, charming. Listeners with even the slightest thirst for adventure will be quickly seduced by the swelling rhythms and high-spirited melodies created by Cyprus native George Lernis for a program of improvisation-grounded performances blended with traditional Middle Eastern and Mediterranean music influences." - Jazziz magazine (Mark Holston)

"Greek-born Cypriot drummer George Lernis knows of what he plays on this intriguing album of panoramic and universal messages. He also plays the bouzouki-sounding santur, which sets the tone along with Mehmet Ali Sanlikol/p-voc-oud, Emiel De Jaegher/tp, Burcu Gulec/voc, Bruno Raberg/b ;and guest bassist John Pattituci for an album that takes you on the spiritual journey of immigrants trying to find a home in America after being persecuted or chased out of their own country." - Jazz Weekly (George W. Harris)
